Tickets for ICC Men's T20 World Cup Semifinals and Finals Available Soon
Ticket Sales Announcement
Tickets for the semifinals and finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, set to take place in India and Sri Lanka, will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, February 24, at 7 PM IST.
According to a statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), fans can buy tickets for the first semifinal on March 4, the second semifinal on March 5, and the final on March 8.
Venue Details for Knockout Matches
The first semifinal will be held at either the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo or Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while the second semifinal is confirmed for Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
If Pakistan qualifies for the semifinals, they will compete in the first semifinal in Colombo on March 4. Should Pakistan not qualify but Sri Lanka does, and they face a team other than India, Sri Lanka will play in the first semifinal in Colombo. If neither scenario occurs or if India faces Sri Lanka, the first semifinal will be held in Kolkata on the same date.
The final is scheduled for Ahmedabad, unless Pakistan reaches the final, in which case it will be moved to Colombo. Tickets purchased for a venue that does not host either semifinal or the final will be refunded to the buyer. The initial ticket release includes a variety of categories for all three matches, available for purchase at tickets.t20worldcup.com.
India's Journey to the Semifinals
Team India is currently facing challenges on their path to the semifinals after suffering a 76-run defeat against South Africa in Ahmedabad. Their net run rate has taken a significant hit, necessitating victories in their upcoming matches against Zimbabwe on February 26 and West Indies on March 1, while hoping South Africa remains undefeated.
In this scenario, South Africa would finish the Super Eight with six points, India would secure second place with four points, and the other two teams would be eliminated, with West Indies holding two points and Zimbabwe none.
