Threats Loom Over Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium Amid IPL Matches

Security Concerns at Sawai Mansingh Stadium
Currently, a sense of calm prevails along the India-Pakistan border, with both nations agreeing to a ceasefire. However, threats to bomb cricket venues in India persist. The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur has received its third bomb threat within a week. Reports indicate that these threats are intended as retaliation for India's success in Operation Sindoor. According to the revised IPL 2025 schedule, three matches are still set to take place at this venue.
Previously, the stadium had also received bomb threats via email, specifically on May 8 and May 12. Following these threats, local authorities have heightened security measures and are conducting thorough searches of the stadium. The new IPL 2025 schedule was released on May 12, detailing that three out of the remaining 17 matches will occur at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Since the initial threat on May 8, security around the stadium has been intensified, and search operations have been ongoing for several days. It has been reported that the cybercrime unit has become active in response to the email threats.
According to the updated schedule, the first match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium will feature the Rajasthan Royals facing off against the Punjab Kings on May 18. Additionally, matches between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 24, and Punjab Kings versus Mumbai Indians on May 26 are also scheduled.
