Approximately 15 years ago, the brand was acquired by the Indian textile powerhouse Welspun, leading to a gradual shift in production from Britain to Gujarat. The design process for these towels begins about 18 months prior to the tournament, with Christy's design team analyzing seasonal color trends and design movements. Reports indicate that each towel requires around seven days to complete. This year's Wimbledon towel features the tournament's classic green color adorned with purple stripes, while another version is inspired by the famous strawberries and cream, showcasing a strawberry hue.
