Tesla Launches Model Y in India

Following the recent opening of its Experience Centre in Mumbai, Tesla has officially introduced the Model Y in the Indian market. After extensive discussions regarding tariffs between India and the United States, the company is now ready to sell an imported version of the Model Y in the region. The Model Y is available in both long-range and standard variants, with prices starting at ₹59.89 lakh ex-showroom, while the top-tier model is priced at ₹67.89 lakh ex-showroom.


Specifications and Range of Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y boasts a WLTP range of 500 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. The long-range variant offers a certified WLTP range of 622 km and achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Both versions feature rear-wheel drive and can charge at a rate of 25 kWh. Tesla plans to establish 16 supercharger stations across India, with the first eight located in and around Delhi and Mumbai.


Advanced Features and Warranty of Model Y

Tesla has equipped the Model Y with cutting-edge technology, including a 15.3-inch central touchscreen, powered and heated front seats, heated rear seats that fold, a 9-speaker audio system, an 8-inch rear touchscreen, and ambient lighting. Additional features such as a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, windshield, and dashcam enhance the vehicle's interior. Customers can also opt for the autopilot feature for an extra ₹6 lakh.


The vehicle comes with a warranty of 4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. The battery and drive unit are covered by an 8-year or 192,000 km warranty, depending on which milestone is reached first.
