Novak Djokovic Sets New Record at French Open with 120th Match
Historic Achievement at Roland Garros
Novak Djokovic made history by surpassing Roger Federer's remarkable record during his second-round match at the 2026 French Open. This match marked his 120th appearance at Roland Garros, where he triumphed over France's Valentin Royer in four sets, winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-7 (9-7), 6-3 on the renowned Court Philippe Chatrier. The match lasted three hours and 28 minutes, allowing Djokovic to advance to the Round of 32 for the 21st time, a feat unmatched by any other player. The 39-year-old is aiming for his 25th Grand Slam title and a fourth French Open trophy, hoping to end a nearly three-year drought without a major title.

With this victory, Djokovic has become the first player to compete in 120 matches at a single Grand Slam event, breaking the previous record held by Roger Federer at Wimbledon, where he won the title eight times. Rafael Nadal previously held the record for the French Open, which Djokovic surpassed last year.
