New York, Sep 5: The US Open 2026 is set for an exhilarating Day 7, featuring top-seeded Alexander Zverev in men's singles and second-seeded Elena Rybakina in women's singles.
Zverev will compete against 25th seed Alejandro Tabilo in the third round, while Rybakina faces unseeded Yuliia Starodubtseva, aiming for a spot in the pre-quarters as the spotlight shines on the stars in New York.
All eyes will be on Zverev, who has battled through two five-set matches, totaling over nine hours on the court. The World No. 2 has previously defeated Tabilo in both of their encounters, but given his recent exertions, an upset could be possible.
On the other hand, Rybakina is on a mission to secure her first title at Flushing Meadows and ascend to the World No. 1 ranking, currently held by Aryna Sabalenka. She has dominated her initial rounds, losing serve only once, and will seek to avenge her earlier defeat to Starodubtseva from the French Open 2026.
