Celebration at Hanuman Temple

After clinching the T20 World Cup title, Team India's captain Suryakumar Yadav, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and ICC chairman Jay Shah visited the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad. They sought blessings while proudly holding the T20 World Cup trophy.

India made history by winning its third T20 World Cup title, becoming the first team to defend the championship and win it on home soil. This remarkable achievement came after a commanding 96-run victory over New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India's Batting Brilliance

In the final match, New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first. However, Abhishek Sharma returned to form with a record-breaking fifty, scoring 52 runs off just 21 balls, including six fours and three sixes. His partnership with Samson, which yielded 98 runs, proved costly for New Zealand.

Samson then formed a century partnership with Ishan Kishan, who contributed 54 runs off 25 balls, hitting four boundaries and four sixes. India crossed the 200-run mark in the 16th over. Shivam Dube added valuable runs, finishing with 26 not out off eight balls, helping India reach a total of 255/5, the highest score in T20 World Cup finals. James Neesham was the standout bowler for New Zealand, taking 3 wickets for 46 runs.

Bowling Attack Secures Victory

Chasing a target of 256 runs, New Zealand struggled against India's bowling attack. Axar Patel took 3 wickets for 23 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah excelled with 4 wickets for just 15 runs, leaving the Kiwis at 72/5. Tim Seifert managed to score a half-century, making 52 runs off 26 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered.

Despite a brief partnership between Daryl Mitchell and captain Mitchell Santner, who scored 43 runs off 35 balls, India continued to take wickets consistently. Ultimately, New Zealand was bowled out for 159 runs.
