Tay Melo Opens Up About Balancing Motherhood and Wrestling After AEW Return
Tay Melo's Emotional Return to AEW Dynamite
During her maternity leave, Tay Melo expressed her desire to return to AEW Dynamite, aiming to showcase her strength as a working mother. Now that she has rejoined the storylines, she struggles with the separation from her baby at home, admitting that she prefers being with her child over working.
In a recent vlog with Sammy Guevara, Tay shared her feelings about her AEW Dynamite comeback last week. She described feeling exhausted, having lost a nail, and being uncertain about her emotions. Although she was thrilled to wrestle again, she deeply missed her daughter Luna and longed to return home.
“I lost a nail. I feel tired. I feel—I don’t know. I don’t know how to feel. I miss people so much, it’s such a different vibe. It’s like, I do want to do the matches and segments, but at the same time I miss Luna so much. I just wanna go home. It’s almost like I wish I could be in both places at once,” Tay expressed after her two-year hiatus from AEW Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite: Tay Melo's Focus on Family Over Looks
The former WWE NXT star mentioned that she felt torn between two worlds, which affected her mood. Sammy Guevara noted that many complimented Tay on her appearance and asked if she was excited about her return, but her only concern was to be with her baby.
“It’s funny because everyone kept telling me how beautiful I looked and asking if I was excited, and I told you I just said, ‘No, I just wanna go home. I miss my baby.’”
Melo emphasized her love for her job at AEW Dynamite but stated that nothing brings her more joy than being at home with her daughter and husband, Sammy Guevara, enjoying moments together.
At AEW Fyter Fest 2025, tensions rose as Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford attacked Anna Jay. Tay Melo made a surprise appearance to assist Jay, leading to a brawl. She is now set to team with Anna Jay against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford in an upcoming tag team match on AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster.
