T20 World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Four Teams Compete for Final Spots

Intense Battle for T20 World Cup Qualification
The competition for a spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 has narrowed down to four teams, with only two days left and four matches to play, as reported on the ICC's official website.
At this point, Guernsey has been eliminated from the race, leaving Italy, Jersey, Scotland, and the Netherlands vying for the top two positions to secure their places in next year’s tournament set to take place in India and Sri Lanka.
With just a single point separating these four teams, Jersey achieved a significant 22-run victory over Guernsey on Tuesday, effectively ending Guernsey's hopes of qualification.
Jersey's all-rounder Harrison Carlyon shone in this match, scoring a brisk half-century and taking two wickets, keeping his team in the hunt for a top-two finish with one match left against Scotland.
Scotland, meanwhile, has two matches left in the tournament and made a comeback with a narrow six-run win over the Netherlands in Voorburg on Tuesday.
Oli Hairs contributed a half-century, helping Scotland set a competitive total of 148/9. A standout bowling performance from Chris Greaves, who took 3 wickets for 26 runs, along with Brandon McMullen’s 2 for 33, secured the victory for Richie Berrington’s team.
This win propelled Scotland to third place in the standings, with their upcoming match against Italy, the current leaders, likely to determine one of the qualifiers for the T20 World Cup next year.
The 2026 edition of the T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams, with the top two teams from the European Final advancing to the tournament.
