Over 200 athletes from various countries are gearing up for the Swindon Pickleball Spring 2026 Festival, highlighting the sport's increasing international popularity. Players from regions such as Australia, Hong Kong, Ireland, and the United States are anticipated to join this two-day celebration, which emphasizes pickleball's rapid growth as an engaging and accessible sport.


Festival organizer Shaun Jones expressed his astonishment at the turnout, stating, “It’s a bit crazy. Every year we see people arriving in campervans from places like Scotland, California, Hong Kong, and even Australia.”


Local participant Nicky Borman emphasized the sport's welcoming nature, saying, “What intrigued me the most was its inclusivity. It motivated me to get active.” She noted that players of all ages are becoming enthusiastic about the game.


Borman added, “I’m excited for some great matches, meeting new friends, and enjoying the weekend. It’s the only sport where I’m always smiling.”


For many, the festival's allure goes beyond just competition. Mike Brockwell remarked, “It’s amazing to see participants from Australia or Ireland coming to play pickleball in Swindon. It’s not solely about the sport; it’s about the connections you make. Everyone is there to enjoy themselves.”
