Suyash Sharma Opens Up About His Injury Journey
Leg-spinner Suyash Sharma has shared insights into his challenging battle with injuries and how the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stood by him during a tough year.
In a recent video from the franchise, Suyash expressed gratitude towards RCB for facilitating his surgery in London and for their unwavering support, especially since he had limited playtime in the previous domestic season.
A Candid Reflection on His Health Struggles
"I had been experiencing pain for two years without knowing the cause. RCB's decision to send me to London for surgery was crucial," Suyash revealed during an honest interview.
He also expressed appreciation for RCB's physiotherapist, James Pipe, who provided exceptional care during his recovery in London.
Gratitude for RCB's Support
"In London, I met James Pipe, who treated me like family. I underwent surgery for three hernias and initially doubted my ability to play. I’m grateful to be part of this franchise and to be fit again after enduring pain for so long," he added.
Despite the challenges, Suyash is eager to make his mark in IPL 2025, crediting RCB's support for his recovery.

Suyash reflected on the misdiagnosis he faced as an uncapped player, emphasizing the difficulties of managing injuries away from the limelight.
Acknowledging RCB's Trust
"RCB placed immense trust in me and invested significantly, even when I didn’t play last season. I’m relieved the surgery was successful; everything happens for a reason," he stated.
He mentioned that the injury had him bedridden for several months leading up to the IPL.
Support from Coaching Staff
"I was on bed rest for three months before IPL and only resumed bowling two weeks prior," Suyash noted.
In the video, he also credited RCB's Spin Bowling Coach, Malolan Rangarajan, for his guidance and encouragement.
Aiming for Success with RCB
Suyash concluded by expressing his ambition to help RCB secure a trophy.
Currently, RCB is performing well in IPL 2025, with Suyash contributing significantly by taking four wickets at an economy rate of 7.97 per over. Despite some wicketless outings, he has maintained a strong economy, particularly during the middle overs.
The team has achieved victory in seven out of ten matches and is set to face Chennai Super Kings on May 3.
