Suryakumar Yadav on the Verge of Breaking IPL Record

Suryakumar Yadav Approaches Milestone
Star batter Suryakumar Yadav from the Mumbai Indians (MI) is just 15 runs shy of overtaking AB de Villiers to become the non-opener with the highest runs in a single Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
In the upcoming Qualifier Two match at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, MI will face off against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) for a chance to compete in the title match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Suryakumar has been outstanding throughout the tournament, leading MI in runs and showcasing his exceptional sweep shot.
Suryakumar Aims for de Villiers' Record
Currently, Suryakumar has amassed 673 runs over 15 innings, boasting an impressive average of 67.30 and a strike rate of 167.83. He has achieved five half-centuries, with his highest score being an unbeaten 73.
To surpass AB de Villiers, who scored 687 runs in 16 innings with a century and six fifties at an average of 52.84 and a strike rate of 168.79 during IPL 2016 for RCB, Suryakumar needs just 15 more runs.
However, to claim the Orange Cap, he will need to score 87 runs to exceed the current holder, Sai Sudharsan of the Gujarat Titans (GT), who has 759 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.21, including a century and six fifties.
