India's Stance on T20 World Cup Match Against Pakistan

Mumbai: On Thursday, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav announced that his team will proceed to Colombo for their ICC T20 World Cup match against Pakistan, despite the latter's government advising a boycott of the game.

The highly anticipated clash is set for February 15, but Pakistan's cricket authorities have been instructed to withdraw following Bangladesh's replacement by Scotland due to 'security concerns' regarding playing in India.

"Their decision is beyond my influence. I wish I could dictate their choices, but ultimately, it's their decision," Suryakumar remarked during a press conference with fellow captains ahead of the tournament.

The World Cup kicks off on Saturday, with India facing the USA in their first match that evening.

"Our approach is straightforward. We haven't declined to play against Pakistan; they have. The ICC has scheduled the match, and our travel plans are confirmed for Colombo," he stated.

"We will play our first match on February 7, and then head to Colombo. We've had successful encounters against them in the past. The match is confirmed for the 15th at a neutral venue, and if the opportunity arises, we will compete. It's a tough situation for the Pakistani players as well," he added.
