On Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) along with IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings came together to celebrate the birthday of former T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, acknowledging his significant contributions to Indian cricket.
Born in September 1990, Suryakumar turned 36 this year. Throughout his career, he has reached numerous milestones, including being awarded the ICC Men’s T20I Cricketer of the Year in both 2022 and 2023. He achieved the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings in October 2022 and recorded an impressive 910 rating points in January 2023, one of the highest ratings in T20I history. Suryakumar played a pivotal role in India’s victory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and captained the team to defend their title successfully in 2026, making history. Additionally, he led India to win the T20 Asia Cup 2025 held in the UAE.
