Suruchi Singh's Stellar Performance

Munich, Germany - On June 14, Indian shooter Suruchi Singh achieved a remarkable feat by winning the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup 2025.

This victory in Munich highlights Suruchi's impressive form this year, as she has already claimed top honors in the Buenos Aires and Lima legs of the ISSF World Cup series, as reported by Olympics.com.

The 19-year-old athlete scored a total of 241.9 in the final, narrowly defeating France's Camille Jedrzejewski, who finished with 241.7. Qianxun Yao from China secured the bronze medal with a score of 221.7.

Suruchi, who previously won seven gold medals at the shooting nationals in New Delhi last year, found herself in second place at one point with a score of 162.3, just 0.4 points behind Qianxun Yao, according to Olympics.com.

However, Yao's performance faltered with three consecutive shots below 10, allowing Suruchi to regain her position. Although she was briefly overtaken by Jedrzejewski, a composed shot of 10.5 in the crucial moments secured Suruchi's victory, while Jedrzejewski's penultimate shot of 9.5 proved detrimental.

In the qualification round, Suruchi finished second with a score of 588. Notably, two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker placed 25th with a score of 574 and did not advance to the final. Sainyam, competing for Ranking Points Only (RPO), finished fifth with a total of 580.

Asian Games champion Palak Gulia ranked 36th with a score of 570, while Simranpreet Kaur Brar came in 51st with 568.

Suruchi Singh's gold medal marks India's third medal in Munich, following bronze wins by Sift Kaur Samra and Elavenil Valarivan in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions and 10m air rifle events, respectively.

In the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event, no Indian shooters advanced to the final. Anish Bhanwala, with a score of 581, was the highest-placed Indian at 18th, while Adarsh Singh, Vijayveer Sidhu, Ankur Goel, and Gurmeet did not make the top eight in the qualifiers.

The Munich leg represents the third ISSF World Cup of the season for rifle and pistol shooters. Indian competitors have had a strong start this year, amassing eight medals, including four golds in Buenos Aires and seven in Lima.

Approximately 700 shooters from 78 countries are participating in the Munich event.
