Suruchi Singh's Remarkable Victory
In a stunning display of talent, Suruchi Singh, India's rising star in shooting, clinched her third consecutive gold medal at the ISSF World Cup, triumphing in the women's 10m air pistol event on Friday.
The 19-year-old athlete, competing in her third World Cup, achieved a remarkable feat by securing her third individual gold and fourth overall, following her victories in Buenos Aires and Lima earlier this April. She scored an impressive total of 241.9 in the final round.
After surpassing China's Qianxun Yao, who took home the bronze with a score of 221.7, Suruchi regained her lead with a solid shot of 10.5, while France's Camille Jedrzejewski, who won silver, managed only a 9.5.
In her final shot, a score of 9.5 was sufficient for Suruchi to secure the gold, as Jedrzejewski finished with a 9.8.
During the qualification round, Suruchi placed second with a score of 588, while fellow competitor Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic medalist, finished in 25th place with a score of 574.
Bhaker, who provided commentary during the final, expressed her joy at Suruchi's impressive achievement.
