Surjeet Memorial Cricket Tournament Wraps Up with Social Awareness Focus

The Surjeet Memorial Cricket Tournament came to a close on Monday at Gaddha Nala, located in Gram Panchayat Poolan. The event's closing ceremony featured Angrez Kapoor, the President of BJP Chaurasi Mandal Bharmaur, who served as the chief guest.
In the championship match, the Bharmaur Cricket Team triumphed over the Shirdi Cricket Team. Bharmaur set a challenging target of 65 runs, while Shirdi was dismissed for just 46 runs. The chief guest presented mementos to the winning team as well as all participating teams.
During his address, Kapoor led an oath-taking ceremony for the 12 teams and the audience, urging them to combat drug abuse in the community. He encouraged the youth to avoid narcotics and to report any drug-related activities directly to the Panchayat Pradhan, assuring that their identities would be kept confidential.
In a notable initiative, the Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Poolan announced a cash incentive of ₹20,000 for anyone providing reliable information about drug trafficking, a move that has garnered widespread support in the area.
The tournament attracted enthusiastic participation from players, spectators, and community members, transforming the event into not just a sporting occasion but also a significant platform for raising social awareness.
