Suresh Raina Celebrates MS Dhoni's ICC Hall of Fame Induction

A Special Tribute to a Cricket Legend
New Delhi [India] - On June 10, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina shared a heartfelt message for his longtime friend and teammate MS Dhoni, who has been honored with induction into the ICC Hall of Fame.
During a ceremony held in London, Dhoni became the 11th Indian cricketer to receive this prestigious accolade. Raina expressed that Dhoni's induction was 'well-deserved,' highlighting the significant impact he has made on the sport through his composed demeanor and the legacy he leaves for future generations.
Raina took to Instagram to celebrate Dhoni's achievements, stating, 'The Legend Enters the Hall! @mahi7781, your incredible career and contributions to cricket have earned you a well-deserved spot in the Hall of Fame. From thrilling finishes to transformative leadership, Dhoni bhai has made an unforgettable mark on the game. His calmness, sharp instincts, and steadfast dedication have inspired millions. A true icon and legend, his legacy will continue to motivate future cricketers.'
The ICC Hall of Fame honors the remarkable accomplishments of cricket legends who have significantly influenced the sport's history. Players can be inducted only five years after their last international match.
Dhoni's remarkable journey includes leading India to its first T20 World Cup victory in 2007 with a relatively inexperienced team, guiding the Men in Blue to a historic ODI World Cup win in 2011 on home soil, and securing the Champions Trophy in 2013. He is the only captain in cricket history to have won all three ICC white-ball trophies, showcasing his ability to transform pressure into success.
In addition to his captaincy, Dhoni revolutionized the role of a finisher in One Day Internationals (ODIs). His unbeaten score of 183* against Sri Lanka in 2005 remains the highest by a wicketkeeper in ODIs. With over 10,000 runs in ODIs at an impressive average of 50.57, his batting legacy is both significant and lasting.
As a wicketkeeper, Dhoni was exceptional. His quick stumpings and sharp anticipation changed the game of wicketkeeping in limited-overs formats. Overall, he has amassed 17,266 international runs, 829 dismissals, and played 538 matches for India across all formats. Dhoni's statistics not only reflect excellence but also remarkable consistency, fitness, and longevity.
