Sunrisers Hyderabad Triumphs Over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026 Match
Match Overview
In the IPL 2026 match last night, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), led by Ishan Kishan, secured a convincing victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 57 runs. The team managed to score 216 runs, with notable contributions from Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen, while only Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora added some runs to the total.
Praise for Bowlers
Despite the win, Ishan Kishan expressed dissatisfaction with his batting lineup, although he commended the bowlers for their outstanding performance. After the match, he stated,
“I am certainly very happy with this victory, as we have added two points to the table. I am pleased that our bowlers executed our plans fearlessly and effectively today, and all credit goes to them.”
Kishan also praised debuting fast bowlers Prabhul Hinge and Saqib Hussain, addressing concerns about their inexperience. He remarked,
“No, I believe it’s important to see how hungry and motivated your young bowlers are. They have been working hard this season, collaborating with our fielding and bowling coach Varun Aaron and discussing strategies with experienced players. We wanted to give them a chance, especially while playing at home. Their performance in practice matches had been impressive, so I felt it was the right decision to give them an opportunity today.”
Concerns Over Batting Performance
Ishan Kishan was not pleased with the batting unit's performance post-match, stating,
“Considering our batting unit and the players' form, we have been scoring over 200 runs in almost every match. Yes, we were a bit short today. Abhishek Sharma tends to get out quickly at times, but our goal is to take the game deep and play cricketing shots. We give him complete freedom because if he gets going, he can single-handedly push the score to 260 or 270. We don’t ask for anything more from him. He got out today, but I am confident he will come back even more motivated in the next match.”
Regarding his decision not to keep wickets against Rajasthan Royals, he mentioned,
“As a captain, I felt there was a lack of communication. Sometimes, while keeping, you don’t have enough time to convey your plans to the bowlers properly. Therefore, it’s better to discuss with them on the field so we can set the field accordingly. That was our plan, and I think it worked well for us.”
