Highlights of the Surya Pickleball Tournament

Suryansh Yadav, a board member of the Madhya Pradesh Pickleball Association (MPPA), expressed his satisfaction with the Surya Pickleball Tournament, a PWR 100 event, which successfully wrapped up after three days in Indore on March 29. He remarked, "It was a tremendous success. We managed to conduct a three-day tournament without any disputes, fights among players, or issues with referees, which is quite an achievement given the number of participants involved," Yadav shared with Pickleball Now.

He highlighted the remarkable level of participation, stating, "Matches continued until 2 AM. We had a significant number of entries, with participants competing in various events, some even playing up to five matches." Yadav also shared future aspirations for the growth of pickleball in the region. "We began with PWR 100, and our goal is to progress to PWR 200 and then 300. We aim to organize more tournaments in Madhya Pradesh, introduce new events, and establish state rankings," he explained.

He stressed the importance of supporting local athletes, saying, "We want to host PWR 100 and 200 events so that our players do not need to travel elsewhere to earn points. They should have the opportunity to score points locally to reach higher levels." Addressing the financial burdens faced by players, Yadav added, "Competing outside incurs significant costs, and we want to alleviate that burden. Our aim is to enable them to compete locally and achieve success."
