Students in Coimbatore Promote Anti-Drug Message with FIFA World Cup Campaign
Innovative Anti-Drug Campaign at Camford International School
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 18: In a creative initiative coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026, students from Camford International School launched an anti-drug awareness campaign featuring a massive football installation and flags representing all 48 participating nations.
The students crafted a striking 10-foot football model and showcased the flags to advocate against drug abuse. The campaign, themed 'Choose Goals, Not Drugs', aimed to emphasize the significance of pursuing ambitions and healthy lifestyles instead of succumbing to substance misuse.
As part of the event, students took an anti-drug pledge and expressed their support for the teams competing in the FIFA World Cup final. The impressive football display will be available for viewing on the school grounds for two days.
During the event, Arul Ramesh, Chairman of Camford International School, along with Correspondent Poongothai Arul Ramesh, highlighted the importance of steering youth towards meaningful aspirations and raising awareness about the detrimental effects of drug use.
A grade 11 student shared insights about the school's football installation and the flags, celebrating the spirit of the FIFA World Cup 2026 while promoting the anti-drug message, 'Choose Goals, Not Drugs.'
The student also praised the official match ball, Trionda, noting its representation of discipline and perseverance in football, and expressed gratitude to the school staff for encouraging students to aim for meaningful goals and healthy living.
"Our towering 10-foot football, the flags of 48 nations, and hundreds of young football fans have turned our campus into a lively tribute to world football. The FIFA World Cup 2026's official match ball, Trionda, symbolizes a significant advancement in sports engineering, featuring a design that honors the three host nations—Mexico, Canada, and the United States—along with advanced technology that aids referees in making precise decisions," the student remarked.
"This occasion has also served as a platform for our impactful anti-drug campaign with the slogan 'Choose Goals, Not Drugs', delivering a vital message to young minds about prioritizing passion and purpose over drugs. As proud Camfordians, we support both teams in the FIFA World Cup final, celebrating the discipline and determination that define champions," he added.
"I want to express my gratitude to our Chairman, Correspondent, Principal, and teachers for their unwavering guidance towards meaningful goals and healthy choices, while fostering awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. Choose Goals, Not Drugs," he concluded.
