The latest episode of WWE NXT was a remarkable event, branded as NXT Roadblock 2025. This special show took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City and featured a highly anticipated champion versus champion match that resulted in a new dual title-holder.

In the main event, Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer triumphed over NXT Women’s Champion Giulia, thus becoming a dual champion. This victory marked Vaquer's first reign as the NXT Women’s Champion.

During the match at Madison Square Garden's Theatre, Vaquer took control against Giulia, who was reportedly nursing injuries. After executing a series of moves, including a Dragon Screw, Vaquer secured the pinfall victory with three finishing maneuvers.

The event concluded with Vaquer celebrating her achievement, proudly holding both championship titles, effectively ending Giulia’s 63-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion, which began after her victory over Roxanne Perez at NXT New Year’s Evil in January.

The Journey to the Title Match

The path to the title versus title match at NXT Roadblock 2025 began on the February 25 episode of NXT. Giulia confronted Vaquer after she successfully defended her North American title against Karmen Petrovic, challenging her to a dual title match, which Vaquer accepted.

Leading up to NXT Roadblock 2025, it was reported that Giulia was dealing with an injury, prompting WWE to arrange this match before her hiatus. Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer indicated that there are no plans for unification, and Vaquer will retain both championships moving forward.

Vaquer had previously claimed the NXT Women’s North American Title at the Vengeance Day premium live event by defeating Fallon Henley. Recently, Henley has been seeking answers from GM Ava regarding her rematch for the title. During NXT Roadblock 2025, Henley again requested a rematch, only to be interrupted by Ricky Saints.
