Jawalamukhi (Kangra): A significant moment for Himachal Pradesh has arrived as six students from Spring Dale Convent Senior Secondary School in Jawali, Kangra district, prepare to represent India at the 8th Asia Cup Open International Taekwondo Championship. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place in Pokhara, Nepal, from June 27 to 29, 2025.


The championship will feature athletes from various Asian countries, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Maldives, Tibet, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka. This event serves as a global stage for young taekwondo enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills and sportsmanship.


The selected students from the Jawali region—Aditya, Manvi Thakur, Priyanshi, Samaira, Maurya Kashyap, and Krish Kaundal—will compete with zeal and determination, guided by team manager Anjana Katoch, head coach Prakash Parihar, and sports coach Rakesh Kumar.


Dr. Rajeev Singh Niryal, Principal of Spring Dale School, expressed immense pride in this achievement. He stated, “This is a remarkable accomplishment not only for our school and the town of Jawali but for the entire state of Himachal Pradesh. These young athletes will proudly represent India on an international platform, and we are all very proud of them.”
