New York [US], July 19: Spain has announced its starting lineup for the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, where they will face off against the reigning champions, Argentina. Captain Rodri will lead the midfield as La Roja aims for their first world title since 2010.

In goal, Unai Simon will be supported by a defensive line featuring Pedro Porro, Aymeric Laporte, Pau Cubarsi, and Marc Cucurella. The midfield trio includes Rodri, Fabian Ruiz, and Dani Olmo, while the attacking front boasts teenage talent Lamine Yamal and captain Mikel Oyarzabal.

Spain secured their place in the final with a decisive 2-0 win over France in the semi-finals. Oyarzabal scored from a penalty in the first half, awarded after Yamal was fouled, and Porro added a second goal in the second half.

Yamal was instrumental in the semi-final, winning the penalty after stealing the ball from Lucas Digne, which Oyarzabal converted in the 22nd minute. Porro extended Spain's lead following a well-executed play with Dani Olmo, while France struggled to find clear opportunities.

Although Yamal had a goal disallowed for offside, Spain's defense remained resolute against late attempts from Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni, achieving their sixth clean sheet in seven matches during the tournament.

The European champions have showcased impressive defensive skills throughout the competition, maintaining six clean sheets in seven games, and are now just one win away from claiming their second FIFA World Cup title, following their triumph in South Africa in 2010.

They will face Lionel Messi's Argentina, who are looking to secure back-to-back world championships after their semi-final victory over England.
