In a stunning display, South Africa Women successfully chased down a daunting target of 193 runs, achieving victory by 9 wickets against India in the third T20I. This match, completed in just 16.3 overs, marks their highest successful chase in T20I history and ranks as the third-highest overall in women's T20Is.
The highlight of the innings was the exceptional performance by captain Laura Wolvaardt, who scored an impressive 115 runs off only 53 balls, marking her personal best in T20I cricket. Wolvaardt was dropped by Smriti Mandhana when she was on 31 runs in the fourth over, a mistake that proved costly for India. Her innings featured 14 fours and 5 sixes, achieving a remarkable strike rate of 216.98. Shafali continued her excellent form with her second consecutive fifty, providing a dynamic start at the top of the order. Meanwhile, Harmanpreet anchored the innings with her first half-century of the series, having struggled in the previous two matches. She scored a fluent 66 runs off just 38 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, helping India maintain momentum through the middle overs and set a challenging target.
