Sonipat Stars Make Strategic Moves in Kabaddi Auction

New Delhi, December 30: The Sonipat Stars approached the Kabaddi Champions League auction with a clear vision, focusing on assembling a team characterized by intensity, structure, and strategic gameplay, highlighted by one of the most notable signings of the evening.

Central to Sonipat's auction strategy was Ayan Lochab, the franchise's standout acquisition, secured for Rs. 18.4 lakhs. This agile left raider was highly sought after during the auction, and the Stars acted quickly to bring in a player known for his ability to change the course of matches with his speed, control, and poise under pressure, as stated in a release from KCL.

To bolster their defense, the team also acquired Navdeep Duhan for Rs. 6.2 lakhs and Nitin Rawal for Rs. 3.4 lakhs, enhancing their corner positions. Additionally, the inclusion of Mohit and Avi Duhan adds depth and reliability to their cover roles. On the raiding front, Sonipat made smart investments in players like Harsh, Parveen Banta, Mohit Kalkanda, and Vijay, fostering healthy competition and tactical versatility.

By blending experienced players with emerging talent, the Stars completed their roster with promising athletes such as Ankush Mor, Kushal, Nikhil, and Sonu Krishan Kumar, emphasizing the franchise's commitment to both immediate success and long-term development.

Discussing their auction strategy, team owners Somesh Mittal and Aditya Goel remarked, “Our strategy was straightforward: identify players who align with our system and philosophy. This squad reflects our vision since the team's inception, and we take great pride in the players we've selected.”

Head coach Ramesh Kumar expressed confidence in the team's composition, stating, “We have a well-rounded squad with options in every department. The balance between raiders and defenders provides us with flexibility, and I believe this group will rise to the occasion.”

After being named Sonipat's top acquisition, Ayan Lochab shared his enthusiasm, saying, “Joining Sonipat Stars is a significant opportunity for me. The trust the team has placed in me inspires me to work harder and deliver consistent performances for our fans.”
