SOBO Mumbai Falcons Reach T20 Mumbai League 2025 Final with Victory Over Bandra Blasters
Falcons Secure Final Spot
In a thrilling encounter, Shreyas Iyer's SOBO Mumbai Falcons clinched a place in the T20 Mumbai League 2025 final by defeating the Bandra Blasters by five wickets. The match showcased stellar performances, particularly from Akash Parkar and Ishan Mulchandani, who played pivotal roles in the victory. The Falcons are set to face the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals in the finals on Thursday.
The Bandra Blasters batted first in the semi-final, scoring 130 runs. Dhrumil Matkar contributed 34 runs, while Akash Anand added 31. However, it was Akash Parkar's exceptional bowling that stood out, as he took three wickets for the Falcons.
Chasing the target, the Falcons achieved it comfortably with over five overs remaining, thanks to an unbeaten 52 from opener Ishan Mulchandani, along with quick runs from Akash Parkar (32) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (27).
In the earlier semi-final, the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals secured their final spot with an impressive 8-wicket victory over the Eagle Thane Strikers. Captain Siddesh Lad's unbeaten half-century and Rohan Raje's remarkable five-wicket haul were key to their success at the Wankhede Stadium.
Raje's outstanding bowling performance, which included figures of 5/40, dismantled the Strikers' batting lineup, limiting them to 131 runs in their 20 overs. The Strikers struggled to build momentum, with Raje and spinner Aditya Dhumal wreaking havoc on their top order.
Despite a brief recovery led by Sairaj Patil (41) and captain Atharva Ankolekar (34 not out), Raje's return to the attack sealed the Strikers' fate as he took crucial wickets in quick succession.
In response, the Royals started cautiously, losing an early wicket. However, Lad's steady presence anchored the innings, and he formed a crucial partnership with Chinmay Sutar (19). Lad remained unbeaten on 74 runs off 52 balls, guiding his team to victory with 13 balls to spare. The final will take place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on June 12.
