In a remarkable feat, Smriti Mandhana, the opener for the Indian women's cricket team, has made history by becoming the top run-scorer in women's T20 International cricket. This milestone was achieved during the semi-final match against Bangladesh at the Asian Games 2026 on Sunday.


Mandhana surpassed the previous record held by New Zealand's Suzie Bates, who had accumulated 4,758 runs in 186 matches. With her performance, Mandhana now boasts a total of 4,765 runs in women's T20Is. This significant achievement occurred at the Korogi Sports Park during the second semi-final, where the winner will advance to face Sri Lanka in the gold medal match, following Sri Lanka's victory over Pakistan by eight wickets in the first semi-final.

Currently, Mandhana leads the women's T20I batting rankings with her impressive 4,765 runs. Following her is Suzie Bates with 4,758 runs.
