On Friday, Adani Sportsline revealed that Simon Helmot, a seasoned Australian cricket strategist, has been appointed as the Head Coach of Gulf Giants in preparation for the upcoming International League T20 (ILT20) season later this year.

Helmot's Extensive Coaching Experience

With over 20 years of experience in domestic, international, and franchise cricket, Helmot has made significant contributions to various T20 leagues worldwide. He has been part of the Hyderabad team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2013, playing a key role in several championship victories across prominent T20 tournaments in Australia, the Caribbean, and the UAE. His reputation for fostering high-performance environments and enhancing player capabilities under pressure is well recognized, according to a press release.

Previous Achievements

Before joining Gulf Giants, Helmot spent five seasons with the Melbourne Renegades, where he successfully led the team to its first Women's Big Bash League title in 2024. Recently, he met with Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL), in Ahmedabad to discuss the franchise's long-term vision and preparations for the ILT20 season.
