Shubman Gill's Upcoming Matches Without Spectators in Vijay Hazare Trophy

No Audience for Punjab's Matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy

In a similar fashion to Virat Kohli's recent games in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which were held at the Center of Excellence without any spectators, Shubman Gill's match against Sikkim at Jaipuria College will also take place without an audience.

According to directives from the BCCI, Indian captain Gill and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh are set to play two more matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Sikkim and Goa on January 3 and 6, respectively.

The match against Goa will be hosted at KL Saini Stadium, while the game against Sikkim will occur at the local college ground, where spectators are not permitted due to security concerns and inadequate seating arrangements.

A source from the BCCI, speaking on the condition of anonymity, mentioned, 'Students and staff will be allowed on campus, but there will be stringent security measures, including private bouncers. No outsiders will be permitted entry into the college premises.'

The match schedule was established well in advance. Due to the excitement among fans regarding Rohit Sharma, the match in Mumbai had to be relocated from Anantam Stadium to Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Similar to the matches of Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Gill's game will not be broadcast on television or live-streamed. Both Gill and Arshdeep are expected to arrive here by late Friday night.

The BCCI source added, 'Gill and Arshdeep were supposed to arrive by evening, but their flight was delayed due to adverse weather conditions in North India. They are expected to reach late tonight if the weather improves.'
