Exciting Finals at the Pickleball Now Grand Prix
At the Pickleball Now Grand Prix 2026 held in Mumbai, Shourya Kuckreja and Aniruddha Dhariyawan secured the runner-up position in the men's doubles event. They faced a tough match against Stavya Bhasin and Ammol Ramchandani, ultimately losing 5-15 in the final on February 21 at the Otters Club. Despite the setback, the duo showcased impressive skills throughout the tournament.
In the semifinals, Shourya and Aniruddha triumphed over Mayank Dharampuria and Tushar Singh with a score of 11-5, demonstrating their ability to maintain pressure through extended rallies, which earned them a place in the final.
Reflecting on the experience, Shourya expressed his satisfaction with the competition at his home venue. He stated, “It’s a wonderful experience for someone who doesn’t play pickleball regularly. Competing here and finishing second is truly rewarding. I enjoyed playing against some of the best players in the country.”
Shourya emphasized the significance of the event, noting, “I love the atmosphere here. This is my home court, and I’ve been playing here for years. Competing in this environment feels special.” He also praised the tournament organizers, particularly Tanishq, a long-time friend, for their efforts in making the event successful. “With the involvement of major sponsors, it has become a prominent platform. This is one of the best tournaments I’ve participated in,” he added.
Looking to the future, Shourya's performance has inspired him to pursue pickleball more seriously. “After seeing my performance, I believe I should continue with pickleball. I even considered quitting at one point, but now I’m motivated to train harder and see how far I can progress,” he concluded.
