Dube's Match-Winning Knock

Captain Shivam Dube showcased an outstanding performance, guiding Arcs Andheri to a five-wicket victory over Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs in the first semi-final of the T20 Mumbai League 2026, held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Andheri's Chase Journey

After a disciplined bowling effort that limited the Tigers to 150 runs for 7 wickets, Andheri faced some challenges during their chase. Dube's explosive batting in the final overs ensured they reached the target with nine balls remaining.

In their pursuit of 151 runs, Andheri encountered an early loss when Musheer Khan was dismissed without scoring, leaving the team at just one run. However, Divyaansh Sksena and Arjun Tendulkar steadied the innings with a solid 41-run partnership for the second wicket. Shams Mulani then turned the tide by taking two crucial wickets, dismissing Tendulkar for 13 and Sksena for a brisk 34 runs off 16 balls, which included six fours and a six.

Prasad Pawar (26) and Pragnesh Kanpillewar (18) tried to stabilize the innings with a 40-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Just when Andheri seemed to gain control, Ajit Yadav struck twice in the 13th over, leaving Andheri at 92 for 5.

With the match hanging in the balance, Dube stepped up, forming an unbroken 59-run partnership with Gaurav Jathar (11 not out) and finishing with an impressive 45 runs off 26 balls, including five sixes and a four.

Effective Bowling by Andheri

Earlier in the match, Andheri's bowlers collectively restricted the Tigers' batting lineup. Choosing to bat first, Tigers' captain Sarfaraz Khan provided a quick start with 34 runs off 17 balls, featuring six fours and a six. Opener Jay Bista contributed 35 runs off 33 balls, while Harsh Rane (13) and Ajit Yadav (12) added valuable runs. However, the Tigers struggled to form significant partnerships during the middle overs, with Saksham Parashar falling for a duck and the remaining batsmen unable to accelerate.

Ashutosh Ghagre was the standout bowler for Andheri, taking 2 wickets for 21 runs, while Tendulkar, Dube, Ajay Mishra, Musheer, and Prasun Singh each claimed one wicket.

Upcoming Semi-Final

In the meantime, the North Mumbai Panthers are set to face MSC Maratha Royals in the second semi-final later tonight, with the winner moving on to the title match on Saturday.
