Shivam Dube's Humorous Encounter with Paparazzi After T20 World Cup Victory
Shivam Dube Celebrates T20 World Cup Win
On March 15, Team India's all-rounder Shivam Dube enjoyed a light-hearted moment with paparazzi during an event in Mumbai. Dube was part of the victorious Indian squad that secured the T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 8.
In the final match, Dube made a significant contribution with a rapid 26 runs off just 8 balls, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes, achieving an impressive strike rate of 325. His performance helped India set a formidable target of 255 runs, which the bowlers defended successfully, dismissing New Zealand for 159 runs in 19 overs.
With this victory, India became the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title, marking their third championship win. Additionally, they made history by being the first team to win the T20 title on home soil, completing a remarkable treble.
Dube's Viral Interaction with Paparazzi
After a busy few months on the road, including the T20I series against New Zealand and the World Cup, Shivam Dube returned to Mumbai. Despite his success, he remains humble, as demonstrated during his playful exchange with the paparazzi.
In a viral video shared on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), Dube humorously asked the photographers, 'Aap yahan kaise?' (How did you get here?), to which one responded they were there for someone else. Dube then jokingly requested them to delete the footage until his wife arrived.
Once his wife, Anjum Khan, showed up, Dube cheerfully posed for a video with the paparazzi, sharing laughs and enjoying the moment.
Dube's Continued Success and Future Plans
Shivam Dube's approachable demeanor, despite his achievements, highlights that even top athletes can remain grounded. He played a crucial role in India's T20 World Cup victories in 2024 and 2026, and his humble nature continues to resonate with fans.
In the recent T20 World Cup, Dube was instrumental in stabilizing the middle order, finishing as India's fourth-highest run-scorer with 235 runs at an average of 39.16 and a strike rate of 169.06 across nine matches.
Looking ahead, Dube is set to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, joining the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad. The 32-year-old was retained by CSK before last year's mini-auction and is expected to play a vital role in their pursuit of a sixth IPL title, following his contribution to their fifth title win in 2023.
Throughout his IPL career, Dube has amassed 1859 runs, including 10 fifties, with an average of 30.48 and a strike rate of 143.66 in 79 matches.
