Kapur Maintains Lead at IGPL Invitational

Shiv Kapur showcased his skills at the IGPL Invitational, following up his impressive opening round of 10-under with a solid 3-under 69, keeping him in the lead after two rounds. This performance has positioned the RVR Delhi Blue Bulls as strong contenders for the team title.

Despite the challenge of matching his previous day's score, Kapur managed to maintain his top position, now at 13-under. His efforts have propelled the RVR Delhi Blue Bulls to a tie for the lead with the Auro Goa Eagles, both teams sitting at 17-under after two rounds.

The Auro Goa Eagles benefited from Varun Chopra's excellent play, who shot a 4-under 68, adding to his first round score of 66, placing him second individually at 10-under, three shots behind Kapur.

Veer Ganapathy, representing GolfKonnect Bengaluru Stallions, is also in the mix, currently at 5-under with rounds of 69 and 70, trailing the leader by eight shots. He shares this position with Gaganjeet Bhullar and Varun Parikh, who had a tougher second round.

Kapur started strong with birdies on the second, third, and seventh holes, reaching 3-under early on. However, he faced his first bogey on the ninth after an impressive streak of 26 holes without one. On the back nine, he secured three more birdies but also recorded bogeys on the 12th and 16th, finishing with a total of 69.

Reflecting on his performance, Kapur stated, 'I wasn't focused on my 10-under from yesterday. Today, I aimed to stay present and play consistently, despite some dropped shots. With a three-shot lead, there's still one round left, and this course allows for low scores, making it a challenge for the younger players.'

Sachin Baisoya is in sixth place with a total of 4-under, while Trishul Chinappa, Kanav Chauhan, and Shaurya Binu are tied for seventh at 3-under.

The top ten leaderboard is completed by Aryan Roopa Anand, Tushar Pannu, and Ravi Kumar, all at 2-under.

Team Standings: Delhi Blue Bulls and Goa Eagles Share Lead

In the team standings, both the Auro Goa Eagles and RVR Delhi Blue Bulls are tied at 17-under, with Kapur's 13-under score significantly contributing to the Delhi team's success. His teammates include Aryan Roopa Anand, who is tied for 10th, Chiragh Kumar in 23rd, and Gaurav Ghei in 48th.

For the Goa Eagles, Varun Chopra's 10-under score has been pivotal. His teammates are Kanav Chauhan, who is tied for 7th, Saarthak Chibber in 14th, and IL Aalaap in 23rd.

Flying Man Kolkata, led by Varun Parikh at 5-under, is currently in third place, with team members Kartik Sharma, Sukhman Singh, and Syed Saqib Ahmed.
