Shikhar Dhawan Praises Virat Kohli's Resilience and Launches Autobiography
Dhawan Commends Kohli's Determination and Character
Shikhar Dhawan, a former Indian cricket star, has expressed admiration for Virat Kohli's relentless drive and understanding of the game. Reflecting on his experience captaining Kohli during the Ranji Trophy, Dhawan recounted a poignant moment when Kohli scored runs shortly after the death of his father. He stated, "Kohli has always possessed that fierce hunger. Even at the young age of 16-17, while playing under my captaincy, he demonstrated remarkable clarity regarding his game, which was his greatest asset. On the day his father passed away, he still took to the field and made runs—this exemplified his character and focus. Since then, his discipline and intensity have only grown stronger," Dhawan shared during an interview with Boria Majumdar on 'Backstage with Boria'.
Launch of Autobiography 'The One' and Vision for Indian Sports
On December 14, Dhawan launched his autobiography titled 'The One: Cricket, My Life and More' at a special event in New Delhi, reflecting on the mindset that has influenced his life journey.
He explained that the principles outlined in 'The One' align closely with the mission of his initiative, Da One Group, which aims to foster structured athlete development, create accessible grassroots pathways, and build long-term capacity for sports in India. Additionally, he emphasized the efforts of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, which focuses on education and community impact, showcasing his dedication to making a significant contribution to both sports and society.
Dhawan remarked, "Everything I have accomplished in my career has been manifested, including this book and its purpose. 'The One' mirrors the mindset that has shaped my journey, and I aspire for it to inspire future champions. The same principles guide my vision for both the Da One Group and the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation. I aim for these initiatives to play a crucial role in India's emergence as a sporting nation while creating educational and community development opportunities. If my journey motivates young individuals to believe in their potential and remain dedicated to their growth, that is the impact I wish to achieve."
