Shan Masood Achieves Milestone in First-Class Cricket

Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan's Test team, has made history by scoring a double century off just 177 balls, establishing a new record for the fastest double century by a Pakistani batsman in first-class cricket. This remarkable feat saw him surpass the long-standing record held by the legendary Inzamam-ul-Haq for nearly three decades.

Masood accomplished this milestone while playing for Sui Northern Gas in the President's Cup departmental tournament against Sahara Associates on the first day of the match. Previously, Inzamam set the record in 1992 during a match on England's tour, where he reached his double century in 188 balls.

By the end of the first day's play on Sunday, Masood remained unbeaten with a score of 212 runs off 185 balls. However, the record for the fastest double century on Pakistani soil still belongs to India's Virender Sehwag, who achieved the milestone in just 182 balls during a Test match in Lahore in 2006.
