In an interview with Cricbuzz, Sehwag stated, "I believe RCB will emerge as champions. I’ve reverted to my old pattern where the team I support tends to lose, whether it was Gujarat vs Mumbai or Punjab vs RCB."
He further elaborated, "I’m applying the same 'old formula' for this final. In Qualifier 2, I backed Mumbai against Punjab, but they lost. Now, I’m predicting RCB will win—let's see how it unfolds."
In essence, despite his public support for RCB, Sehwag's 'formula' seems to indicate that Punjab Kings may take home the trophy.
