ICC Women's World Cup Warm-Up Matches Scheduled
The schedule for the warm-up matches of the ICC Women's World Cup, set to take place in India this September, has been officially released. The ICC made this announcement on Tuesday. This World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with Pakistan playing all its matches in Sri Lanka.
The warm-up matches are scheduled from September 25 to 28, while the World Cup itself will occur from September 30 to November 2 across five cities. Four venues have been selected for the warm-up matches, where all eight qualifying teams will participate in two matches each, except for Australia, which will only play one match.
Schedule for the Indian Team
As for the host nation, India will kick off its warm-up campaign against England at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru on September 25. The Indian team will then face New Zealand on September 27 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Additionally, Sri Lanka A and India A will also participate in the warm-up matches, with India A playing one match and Sri Lanka A playing two matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan. India A will compete against South Africa on September 28.
The ICC has finalized four venues for these matches, including the BCCI Center of Excellence and M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, as well as the R Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Ground in Colombo.
