Sanju Samson Celebrated by Kerala Businessman for T20 World Cup Success

Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper-batter for Team India, recently met with a businessman from Kerala who generously rewarded his employees for their support during the T20 World Cup 2026. Samson played a crucial role in India's title defense, leading the team to victory against New Zealand in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8.
His outstanding performances in the knockout rounds included a remarkable 97* against the West Indies, followed by scores of 89 in both the semifinal against England and the final against New Zealand, which were instrumental in securing the championship.
Businessman Rewards Employees
Nithin Babu, the owner of Fia Garments in Pampady, Kottayam, was inspired by Samson's achievements. He decided to reward his 82 employees with bonuses totaling INR 2.77 lakh, distributed as follows: INR 500 during the Super 8, INR 1000 for the semifinal, and INR 2000 for the final.

Samson's Heartfelt Visit
In a touching gesture, Sanju Samson visited Nithin Babu's home to express his gratitude for the bonuses given to the employees. A video shared on Samson's Instagram captured the moment, showcasing their warm interaction as they celebrated the cricketing success together.
During his visit, Samson enjoyed lunch and played cricket with Nithin and his family, highlighting the camaraderie and joy stemming from the sport. He expressed his appreciation on Instagram, stating, 'I am forever indebted to my people, my community, their love, and their blessings. It will always be bigger than the game.'
Samson's T20 World Cup Performance
Sanju Samson concluded the T20 World Cup 2026 as India's top run-scorer, accumulating 321 runs with an average of 80.25 and a striking rate of 199.37, including three half-centuries. His exceptional contributions earned him the Player of the Tournament title.
Upcoming IPL Season with CSK
Following his World Cup commitments, Samson is set to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He was traded from the Rajasthan Royals in a significant deal worth INR 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
Samson joined the CSK squad for his first training session on March 19 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, although he missed the pre-season camp in Himachal Pradesh to spend time with family.
As a key player for CSK, he aims to lead the batting lineup and bring his impressive World Cup form into the IPL season. With five seasons of leadership experience from his time with the Rajasthan Royals, he is expected to mentor younger players on the team.
In his IPL career, Samson ranks as the 14th leading run-scorer, with 4704 runs, including 3 centuries and 26 fifties, at an average of 30.94 and a strike rate of 139.04 across 177 matches.
