Sanju Samson, the talented wicketkeeper-batter for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has made history by scoring 5000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This remarkable achievement places him among only ten players to reach this milestone in the tournament's history.
Samson accomplished this feat during a match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Chennai on Sunday. He reached the landmark by hitting a four off Kagiso Rabada in the second over. Currently, he has amassed a total of 5008 runs in 180 innings, boasting an average of 31.69 and a strike rate of 140.59, which includes five centuries and 26 half-centuries.

In achieving this milestone, Samson has played 185 matches across three franchises: Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Daredevils, and Chennai Super Kings. He is now recognized as the third fastest player to reach 5000 runs based on the number of balls faced. AB de Villiers holds the record, having reached this mark in just 3,288 balls, followed by David Warner at 3,554 balls. Samson surpassed notable players such as Suresh Raina (3,620 balls), KL Rahul (3,688 balls), and MS Dhoni (3,691 balls).
