Goenka took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to commend Pant, stating, “Not just talent. This is character. Salute.”

Rishabh Pant, who also leads the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL, showcased incredible determination as he batted with an injured toe. Despite the pain, he managed to face a few deliveries before rain interrupted play, leading to an early lunch. Earlier, Goenka had expressed his hopes for Pant's swift recovery, stating, “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Rishabh. You’re a fighter, and we know you’ll come back stronger.”

Prior to his return to the field, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Pant had sustained a fracture in his right foot, which would prevent him from keeping wickets for the remainder of England's innings. Dhruv Jurel stepped in as the wicket-keeper, but Pant continued to bat.
