Sambalpur Warriors Secure Victory at Barabati Stadium
In a thrilling encounter at Barabati Stadium, the Sambalpur Warriors clinched an impressive eight-wicket win against the Puri Titans during the Odisha T20 League – CM Trophy. The match saw Shantanu Mishra and Soumya R Lenka leading their team to chase down a target of 164 runs.
Puri Titans batted first, managing to score 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. They faced an early challenge but recovered thanks to a vital partnership between Adithya Rout and Swayam Srivastava, who combined for 73 runs for the second wicket.
While Srivastava contributed 27 runs off 23 balls, Rout was the standout performer, scoring a solid 75 runs from 50 deliveries. Sarbeswar Mohanty added a quick 20 runs off 13 balls, helping Puri Titans finish their innings on a competitive note.
In response, the Sambalpur Warriors lost an early wicket but quickly regrouped, with Shantanu Mishra and OM T Munde forming a crucial 64-run partnership for the second wicket. Munde scored 28 runs off 21 balls before his dismissal, while Shantanu anchored the innings.
Soumya R Lenka joined Shantanu, ensuring the Warriors kept their grip on the match. With 16 runs needed from the last two overs, the duo maintained their composure, guiding Sambalpur to victory without losing another wicket.
Shantanu finished the match unbeaten with 78 runs off 59 balls, while Soumya added a brisk 38 runs off 20 balls. The Warriors completed their chase with over an over to spare, earning two crucial points at the historic Barabati Stadium.
