Sai Sudharsan's Father: The Silent Force Behind His Success
The Impact of Parental Support
As the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) prepare for their Qualifier One match against the Gujarat Titans (GT), former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar highlighted the significant influence of Sai Sudharsan's father on his son's achievements. Bangar emphasized that the father's prayers and blessings have played a crucial role in Sudharsan's rise as a leading run-scorer for the Titans.
Sudharsan's Impressive Season Stats
Currently holding the Orange Cap, Sudharsan is a key player for RCB to target during the upcoming clash in Dharamsala. This season, he has accumulated 638 runs over 14 innings, boasting an impressive average of 49.07 and a strike rate of 157.92. His performance includes one century and seven half-centuries, with a top score of 100.
A Father's Devotion
During an appearance on JioHotstar's 'Champions Waali Commentary', Bangar shared insights about R Bharadwaj, Sudharsan's father, who is also a former athlete. He noted that Bharadwaj prays with his eyes closed before each delivery. "If you observe him during the match, you will see him praying for his son. At this level of competition, a player's need for prayer and support is paramount. This connection is evident as he sits there, eyes shut, praying before every ball and expressing gratitude afterward," Bangar remarked.
Understanding the Emotional Bond
"Only a father can truly grasp these emotions. Having been a sportsman himself, he understands the mental challenges players face during a match. You can see the prayers in his eyes before each delivery. The blessings from parents can propel a player to great heights, and Sai Sudharsan has certainly emerged as a star," he added.
Sudharsan's Knockout Performance
In the knockout stages, Sudharsan has been exceptional for GT, scoring 219 runs in just three innings, averaging 96 with a strike rate exceeding 172. His standout performance includes a near-century of 96 in the final against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
