Sai Sudharsan Shines with 48 Runs in IPL 2025 Match Against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sai Sudharsan's Stellar Performance
In an exciting IPL 2025 clash on May 2, Sai Sudharsan, the opener for Gujarat Titans, delivered an impressive performance, scoring 48 runs off just 23 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. His innings concluded in the eighth over when he attempted to guide a delivery past the wicketkeeper, only for it to edge off his bat and be caught by Heinrich Klaasen, bowled by Zeeshan Ansari.
The dismissal was particularly noteworthy as the leg-spin from SRH caught Sudharsan's outside edge, allowing Klaasen to make a straightforward catch behind the stumps.

With this performance, Sudharsan became the fastest Indian cricketer to reach 2000 T20 runs, achieving this milestone in just 54 innings, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's previous record of 59 innings.
Earlier in the match, after choosing to bowl first, SRH's captain Pat Cummins witnessed his bowlers struggle against the aggressive opening partnership of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who propelled GT to a commanding 81/0 by the end of the powerplay.
Gill, who had missed the previous match against Rajasthan Royals due to a back issue, made a strong comeback. The only change for GT was Gerald Coetzee replacing Karim Janat.

SRH maintained their lineup from the match against Chennai Super Kings, with Travis Head included in the Impact Players list for the 2024 IPL runners-up.
Facing a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive, SRH started the day in ninth place. Meanwhile, a victory for GT would place them at the top of the table, as they reached 140 for one after 12 overs, with Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler at the crease.
