Sachin Tendulkar's Visit to Kaziranga National Park

Dispur (Assam) [India], April 9: Renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had a delightful experience at Kaziranga National Park on Wednesday, where he fed sugarcane sticks to elephants.


The cricketing icon, affectionately known as the 'Master Blaster,' took pleasure in interacting with the wildlife during his visit and later enjoyed a thrilling jeep safari.




On the previous day, Tendulkar had embarked on a jeep safari and had a memorable encounter with a young admirer, sharing a handshake with the little fan.


Often referred to as the 'God of Cricket,' Tendulkar holds the record for the highest runs in both Test and One-Day Internationals (ODIs), having achieved an impressive 100 international centuries. His cricketing prowess captivated fans worldwide from 1989 until his retirement in 2013.


Making his Test debut at the tender age of 16 on November 15, 1989, he played his first ODI shortly after on December 18 of the same year. Over his illustrious career, he participated in 664 international matches, amassing a staggering 34,357 runs with an average of 48.52, solidifying his status as the highest run-scorer in the history of international cricket. His remarkable tally of 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries remains unparalleled.


Tendulkar was the pioneer in scoring a double century in ODIs and holds the record for playing 200 Test matches. In ODIs, he scored 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83, which includes 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries. In Test matches, he accumulated 15,921 runs at an average of 53.78, with 51 centuries and 68 fifties.


A vital member of India's victorious ICC Cricket World Cup team in 2011, Tendulkar realized his lifelong ambition of lifting the coveted trophy after making his World Cup debut in 1992. He also played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from 2008 to 2013, contributing to their title win in 2013.
