Spain has emerged as a key player in this trend, particularly highlighted by the recent major tournament held in Sabadell.

According to local reports, the Sabadell Pickleball Club successfully hosted the Catalan Indoor Court Championship at the Carme Valero Indoor Court, positioning the city as a central hub for pickleball in Catalonia. This event was part of the Copa Catalunya circuit's third leg and showcased some of the region's finest players across singles, doubles, and mixed categories.

In the men's singles final, Sergi Ventura triumphed over Jordi Segura with scores of 11-9 and 11-5. The men's doubles title was claimed by Pep Canyadell and Ignasi de Rueda, who defeated Xabier Pérez and Marc Caymel 11-3, 11-4. Clàudia Caymel and Eleana Rodino won the women's doubles championship, beating Alícia Roca and Mireia Recasens 11-5, 11-5. In mixed doubles, Canyadell and Recasens emerged victorious against Ventura and Roca with scores of 11-3, 11-9.

The tournament also included a 50+ category, where Xabier Pérez won the singles title, and he along with José Manuel ‘Peten’ took the doubles championship. In mixed doubles, Noemí Arostegui and David Armentano finished in first place.

This event has further solidified the Sabadell Pickleball Club's status as a leading center for the sport in Catalonia. The Catalan Tennis Federation's increasing involvement has also played a crucial role in enhancing the sport's visibility and participation in the area. Sabadell is scheduled to host another significant event in July, marking the fifth stop on the Catalan pickleball circuit at the Cercle Sabadellès 1856 facilities.
