RCB's Historic Victory in IPL 2025
The IPL 2025 season concluded with an unforgettable triumph for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who secured their inaugural title. On June 3, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB, under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, edged out Punjab Kings (PBKS), captained by Shreyas Iyer, by a narrow margin of six runs in the final match.
RCB set a challenging target, scoring 190 runs while losing nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, PBKS fell short, finishing at 184 for 7. Virat Kohli was a standout performer for RCB, contributing 43 runs, while Krunal Pandya's exceptional bowling figures of 2 for 17 earned him the Player of the Match award.
This victory marked a significant milestone for RCB, as it took them 18 years to finally lift the IPL trophy, making them the eighth franchise to achieve this feat. Kohli's remarkable season included a total of 657 runs across 15 matches, marking his eighth consecutive season of surpassing 500 runs in the IPL.
In addition to the final match, individual accolades were awarded to the top performers of IPL 2025. Sai Sudharsan from Gujarat Titans was recognized for his outstanding batting, while Prasidh Krishna emerged as the leading wicket-taker.
