Roundglass Partners with FPAP to Enhance Football Ecosystem in Punjab
Strategic Collaboration Announced
Roundglass has officially launched a strategic partnership with the Football Players Association of Punjab (FPAP), aiming to strengthen the football landscape in Punjab with a focus on player welfare. The announcement took place in Chandigarh, attended by notable figures including former Indian player and FPAP President Anwar Ali, Vice President Harpreet Singh, current Indian international Amrinder Singh, youth international Gurnaz Kaur, Indian Women’s League player Harmilian Kaur, along with Captain Nitin Pant and former Punjab FC player Bikramjit Singh, who is also the Deputy Lead of Roundglass Football Development Centres.
Commitment to Player Welfare
This collaboration is part of Roundglass's ongoing commitment to support footballers beyond the field through various welfare, educational, and developmental initiatives. The partnership aims to implement a range of structured, non-commercial programs that will benefit players throughout their careers, aligning with Roundglass's vision of establishing a modern, player-centric football organization.
Focus Areas of the Collaboration
Roundglass and FPAP will work together on several key areas, including player welfare, mental health, injury prevention, financial literacy, career transition support, integrity and anti-doping education, health and lifestyle awareness, grassroots engagement, mentorship for retired players, and policy discussions.
Digital Wellness Resources for Players
As part of this initiative, Roundglass will provide FPAP members with complimentary access to the Roundglass Living app, which offers digital wellness resources aimed at enhancing players' overall health and lifestyle.
Implementation and Structure
The collaboration will be executed through workshops, awareness sessions, community outreach, and regular coordination via a Joint Working Group made up of representatives from both organizations. The partnership is designed to ensure that all activities are educational and welfare-focused, steering clear of player contracts, employment issues, or governance matters.
Long-term Commitment to Player Development
Nitin Pant, General Manager of Punjab FC, emphasized, “At Roundglass, we believe that player development goes beyond just technical skills and competition. Supporting players through education, well-being, and career planning is vital for a sustainable football ecosystem. Our partnership with FPAP demonstrates our dedication to prioritizing players in all our endeavors. We aim to create impactful opportunities that empower footballers at every stage of their careers while enhancing the football community in Punjab.”
Empowering Footballers in Punjab
Former Indian international Anwar Ali, President of FPAP, also shared his thoughts, stating, “The establishment of the Football Players Association of Punjab was motivated by the belief that every footballer deserves robust support both on and off the pitch. This partnership with Roundglass is a significant step towards building that ecosystem. By collaborating on player welfare, education, mental health, and career development, we can empower footballers to make informed choices throughout their careers. We appreciate Roundglass for acknowledging the importance of a player-first approach and look forward to developing initiatives that will benefit the football community in Punjab.”
