Roston Chase Nears Top Spot in T20I All-Rounder Rankings
West Indies all-rounder Roston Chase has significantly closed the gap on the top-ranked T20I all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, following an impressive display against Australia in the opening match of their five-match series. The latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday revealed that Chase has achieved his highest career ranking.
In the first T20I against Australia, Chase scored 60 runs off just 32 deliveries, propelling him to the second position with 221 rating points, just behind Pandya, who holds 252 points in the All-Rounder Rankings.
Cameron Green and Mustafizur Rahman Rise in Rankings
Australia's promising all-rounder Cameron Green also made strides in the All-Rounder Rankings, moving up eight spots to 28th place after his match-winning performance in the first T20I against the West Indies.
In the T20I Bowling Rankings, Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman made a remarkable jump of 17 places, entering the top 10. He is now tied for ninth with India's Arshdeep Singh, both having 653 rating points. Mustafizur excelled during the historic T20I series against Pakistan, taking three wickets at an impressive average of seven.
Additionally, Mahedi Hasan from Bangladesh also saw a significant rise, climbing nine positions to 16th place after his strong performance against Pakistan, where he took three wickets, including figures of 2/25 in a close win on Tuesday.
Shai Hope Enters Top 10
In other rankings news, New Zealand's seasoned bowler Matt Henry ascended 13 spots to 29th in the bowler rankings, thanks to his six wickets in just two matches during the Zimbabwe tri-series.
West Indies captain Shai Hope has reached a career-high ranking of 10th in the batting rankings with 670 rating points, moving up four places after scoring 55 runs off 39 balls in the first T20I. His Australian counterpart, Mitchell Marsh, also improved his standing, climbing three spots to 23rd with 592 rating points.
