Rory McIlroy to Compete in India for the First Time

In a significant development for Indian golf, Rory McIlroy has announced his participation in the upcoming $4 million DP World India Championship. This event marks McIlroy's inaugural appearance in India, scheduled to take place at the Delhi Golf Club from October 16 to 19.


The 2025 Masters champion solidified his status as a golfing legend earlier this year by achieving a career Grand Slam, adding the prestigious Green Jacket to his collection of major titles, which includes victories at the US Open in 2011, the US PGA Championship in 2012 and 2014, and The Open in 2014.


Expressing his enthusiasm, McIlroy stated, “I’m thrilled to be playing in India for the first time and to explore a country I’ve always wanted to visit.”
